Gideon Update

Gideon and I are working hard on the potty training thing....Days=Good....Nights=Bad. Slowly but surely the little man will get it. Little does he know that as soon as he masters this concept a whole new world of "hanging out with Dad" will be opened. (He had a small accident at the barber's while Heath and he were getting their haircut.) Well, he did it again....Gideon broke his glasses. We took him back to the eye doctor to talk about some options. One is he can have surgery....Heath and I agree that he is too young for that. And apparently it takes about 3 surgerys to get it right. Eye drops to blur his vision in his good eye, thus forcing his other eye to work. Or an eye patch. For now we are trying the patch, he has to wear it for 5 hours a day. In about six months we will try his prisms (glasses) again. When he can understand a bit better to be careful with them. He is really good about leaving them on his face, but once they are off....well he has to "bend" them. :)

You can't blame the boy - I'm sure the glasses look like a whole world of boyish adventure! He's so stinking big . . . what do you feed him anyway?

Levi was in glasses for a while too. I don't know what Gideon's eye problems are, but Levi's doctor didn't even mess with patching. He had surgery when he was four...poor little guy. But now, three years later, he is fine. He doesn't even use his glasses anymore. It is a tough decision.
